Well, I think I've recovered from the crazy week of Miss Utah. I have to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who watched the boys for us! Jason did a fabulous job playing both roles, but those extra hours that he couldn't cover...we are grateful for you! I came home to a remarkably clean house, even the microwave had been cleaned (which is a huge deal). I love you Jason! Thank you for your sacrifice in taking work off to let me have a week away.

On to Miss Utah week. So fun, pretty busy and totally worth it. I love days when you're going so fast, you don't even have time to eat! I got to spend time with some new teen contestants (photo) at the Show Your Shoes Parade, they worked really hard selling tickets for a raffle we had. I also got to spend every single day with my mom, Meredith and her mom. Such great women. Between running errands, rehearsals, news appearances and sound checks, we kept Meredith super busy...and she never complained once. I just adore her! And of course Kayla- on Friday night, Meredith and I stayed up well past 1:00 am sharing experiences with her, laughing, crying and hugging. It was like a scene from Steel Magnolias, I swear. We have grown a pretty fantastic friendship over the past year and it's kinda sad to "say goodbye" to the closeness we shared. BUT the new Miss Utah is quite incredible as well!! Her name is Whitney Merrifield, she is 19, from Lindon and plays the piano like a PRO! We are thrilled to get to spend the year with her, we get to take her to Orlando, FL in August.
