Toot Toot! Hello Thomas!

The kids couldn't stop crying, the adults couldn't stop laughing.
We love this picture.

On Thursday, the Watkins clan all got together and ventured to Heber City to spend "A Day Out With Thomas." A second time for us, a first time for everyone else.
9 kids
8 adults
5 bottles of water
15 MPH wind
2 strollers
3 bottles of sanatizing gel
1 diaper blow out (poor Colby, poor Krista)
AND 0 major meltdowns...until the last picture...
it was a fantastic day!

My brothers baby- Colby...one little tired boy!

The pledge of allegiance

Dawson will officially graduate from preschool on Friday. He still has one more year of preschool ahead of him, thanks to his September birthday, but he has learned SO much this year. Dawson and I met with his teacher today and had a review of some of the important things he has learned. Little did I know that he could recite the pledge of allegiance!! We came right home and recorded it! Good job D!!

I love my kids

I'm sure the recent sad story in Layton with the 4 year old little boy has hit home with a lot of us. I just read the latest reports on KSL.com and tried to fight back the tears, until finally- I couldn't. What a terrible and sad display of parenting (if you can even call it that). If this tragedy has taught me anything, it is that I will work that much harder to be a better mother and caregiver for the 2 tender spirits I have in this life. Dawson and Carter mean everything to Jason and I and we are re-committing ourselves to be the best parents we can. No child should ever have to face the abuse, neglect and torture that poor little child experienced. The only comfort I can find, is knowing that, that little boy is in the arms of a loving Father in Heaven and away from the clutches of his Earthly mother and step-father.

I am so grateful that families can be together forever and I want to be the kind of parent, my children want to be with forever.

My 100th post!

Wow- we've had the blog since January 28th, 2008. I should have a few more than 100 posts...but I guess our lives just aren't that interesting!? Some fun facts about the last 2+ years.

1. Been to Disneyland twice
2. Purchased 2 new vehicles
3. Traveled (collectively) to: Germany, Czech Republic, Hawaii, Chicago, New Orleans, Mississippi, Florida (thrice), Las Vegas (thrice), California, Arizona, Mexico and probably a few other states I can't remember?
4. Jason started and has since run an effective Financial solutions company, Silverline Financial.
5. I have continued my involvement with the Miss Utah Organization and loved every minute.
6. Dawson & Carter completed their swimming courses, 3 seasons.
7. Dawson loves preschool, scored a 31 on the 4 year old aptitude (Average was 21)
8. Carter has ruined 1 vacuum, 2 t.v. remotes, one computer mouse, 1 treadmill, clogged the toilet, tooth-paste painted his room, almost had stitches twice, scratched 18 dvd's and still manages to steal my heart.
9. Our yard is completely landscaped and just the way we want it.
10. We have grown closer as a family and Jason & I as a couple, have become better friends that we could have ever imagined. We LOVE our neighbors, friends and people we work with. We are very blessed and we hope the next 100 posts are full of just as much fun and smiles, as the last!
Thanks to everyone who reads, comments and wants to stay in the know with us!
