Dawson started "Little Kickers Soccer" with Spanish Fork Rec. It was the most hilarious, adorable and awesome thing to watch as a parent! His very first experience playing on a team...and he did so well! The league is a one month introduction to the sport and the rules that little kickers need to know. Jason has to attend each class and help him learn the basic skills he will need later on...they did great tonight! He is the one in the hat...kicking the first ball of the scrimmage.
And the latest project for the most patient daddy in the world...teaching Dawson how to ride a bike! One thing we have noticed about Dawson- when something doesn't come easily to him, he gets VERY frustrated. Hmmm...wonder where he gets that from? But he actually did a great job! He wants to wait till its not so hot to do it again...and I know where he gets that from...ME! :D

The boy with the black/blue eye...
Poor Carter! Unfortunately, I think bruises, scrapes, scratches and scars are something that will inevitable in his future. Thats what you get you are a fast running, leaping, jumping - wild child.
This happened when Jason and I were out with some friends on Saturday night. We came home and our sweet babysitter was so apologetic and worried. Of course I told her, "this kind of thing could have happened with us home too!" I don't think I comforted her much. But Carter is doing great...he is running around like nothing is wrong. I don't think anything is broken, it just looks like the poor kid has been beaten. Apparently the corner of the wooden train table downstairs won this battle. Heal up Carter-Bug!!

Because being cute, ROCKS!
A couple of my favs from the "Summer pictures" file...
Picture #1- Dawson's Field trip to Thanksgiving Point...he was begging me for a quarter so he could buy duck food. How could I say no to a face like that??
Picture #2- Carter at Thanksgiving Point, "PIGS ARE STINKY!"
Picture #3- My niece McKenna on her daddy's motorcycle. She was showing some serious sass!

Living Planet Aquarium!
If you ever want a couple of hours to kill...in Sandy- may I suggest the Living Planet Aquarium!? It was pretty interesting and kept the kiddos entertained for a while. Dawson obviously had more interest than Carter, just due to age and he had this to say- "I could not believe I got to touch a string ray! I was JUST LIKE NEMO, Mom!"
So. Yes, it was all worth that small and exciting moment for him.
Thanks Nana Kaye for making the suggestion and supplying them with fun...and the toys from the gift shop!

A little 4th fun
From Thursday to Monday...it was a continuous party! Family and friends, fireworks and food...the good stuff that make the 4th a Fantastic holiday (how was that alliteration?) Here are some of my favorite pics from the fun.

Out of the mouth of Dawson.
This all happened in approximately 4 minutes. Both stories made me laugh out loud...and I thought because of the perfect comedic timing of them, they deserved a spot on the blog.
Amy: "C'mon Dawson, lets get your shirt on." (after getting dried off from the tub)
Dawson: "Holy smokes Mom! My hands are so wrinkly and old...just like YODA'S! They are so old I can't even clap! See! Tries to clap and sure enough, they barely made a sound. I wonder how Yoda claps loud Mom?!"
Go forward 4 minutes...in the bathroom brushing teeth & flossing....
Amy: " K, Daws, hold still so I can floss. Open wide.
After showing Dawson a small fleck of orange matter, plucked from his back teeth...he responds-
Dawson: "Oh my heck- that has been in there for YEARS!!!"
And thats why having kids is so darn worth it.
