I turned on the water as I always do to get my desired temperature, and as I continued to get ready to hop in...somebody else beat me to it! There he was sitting like a little duck in a pond. splashing. laughing. smiling. Clothes completely soaked and water pouring down his sweet face. I did what any normal parent would do- grabbed the camera to capture the moment. He was pretty upset too when I removed him from his new found oasis, dripping all over the place in the process. Once I got him changed and I resumed my morning activity, he proceeded to bang on the glass while I showered, with a determined look on his face to get back in.
Maybe tomorrow baby boy!

Slip-n-slide?

Jason woke up this morning on a quest to find a Slip-n-slide for Dawson...well 8 stores later, he found one...okay make that 4!! Apparently one wasn't long enough. By the end of the search, the kids and I were exhausted, so the three of us went down for a nap and when I woke up...this is what I found in the backyard!
Jason said he would take us all out to dinner if Nicole and I both did the slip-n-slide, so after a few minutes of extreme defiance on my part, I dusted off the ol' swimsuit (literally) and headed down the plastic runway of terror. My video will not be posted, as where my suit didn't quite stay were it was intended. For those of you curious enough, I will show you the clip for the small fee of $10,000. Its that bad. So anyway- once Dawson woke up and saw what Daddy and Uncle Sean were doing, he wanted NOTHING to do with the slip-n-slide. However, I don't think Jason really ever thought Dawson would actually be excited for somthing of this nature. He says his intentions were pure, but for some odd reason, I have a hard time believing him. The videos don't show any reason for that suspision either...

P.S. in the first video, Sean hit his back on the cement, he has a pretty good battle wound that he's proud of because of it.

Dawson- A.K.A "D"

This entry is dedicated to the wonderful little person that sleeps in the room on the other side of the house. I thought I would quickly write down some of my favorite things about him...humor me.
1. His obsession with his stuffed animal, Copper. I have replaced that silly stuffed dog at least a dozen times and for only $6.99 each time...its worth it.
2. He LOVES chicken nuggets, he doesn't care where they come from either.
3. He watches movies like its going out of style. Meet the Robinsons, Letter Factory and The Chipmunk Adventure are among his favs.
4. He puts the sound "eh" at the end of most of his words...like he's a Canadian or something...no idea why.
5. His laugh is killer, infectious.
6. He is uber photogenic!
7. He will occasionally cuddle with me in bed, mostly as a bribe.
8. His favorite thing to say is "I'm hungry" I hear those pathetic little words uttered at least 20 times a day...for which most of the time he just wants oreos.
9. He has such compassion for Carter, like the time he screamed and screamed for me when Carter spit-up. He was so worried that Carter was messy.
10. The way he has his favorite stories memorized and reads along with you. 'You are Special,' 'Have You Ever Seen a Moose,' and 'The Disney Collection,' are his must reads before bed.
11. The way he counts to twenty and ALWAYS leaves out 6 and 16....we are working on that.
12. He is obsessed with the Disney Store...which is my fault entirely.
13. The way he wakes up on Saturday mornings and instinctively knows its "Mcdonalds Morning" and asks for meat and pancakes before I'm even out of bed.
14. His excitement for gatorade, he drinks the big, huge gallons of it, on his own- every week.
15. His adventerous little imagination, he can make a roller coaster ride for Copper using a toilet paper roll and a blanket...what a fun little person he has turned out to be!

The 4th was awesome! We had most of Jason's family with us and my parents came too. The girls spent the day shopping while the "boys" went golfing and played Xbox. Later we had a killer BBQ with all the grilled favorites, ribs, corn, pinapple...yummy stuff. The fireworks were hilarious! Dawson and Carter got a large helping of all the piro-technics we had to offer. Carter loved it for the most part, just not the noisy ones! Dawson of course went crazy with the sparklers...always a poplular choice with the little ones. THEN on today, we headed up Provo Canyon to the Rasmussen Reunion. It was a lot of fun. We got to see family from Florida and Wyoming and visit with the local ones too. The rest of the day (for me at least) was spent getting packed and ready for the LONG week ahead of us. I am leaving for the Miss Utah pageant in SLC, since being on the board, I get to do lots of things to help during the week. Hopefully everything goes well and my boys (all 3) will be okay without me 24/7!

4th of July Extravaganza!
